The “Entourage Effect”
There are more than 100 different cannabinoids and more than 200 different terpenes found in the cannabis plant. The “Entourage Effect” occurs when different cannabinoids & terpenes work together to enhance the therapeutic benefit of each individual cannabinoid.
How does this apply to our CBD oil?
While CBD is the main cannabinoid found in our hemp plants there are many other cannabinoids that develop along with it in smaller amounts including CBG, CBN, CBC, THC just to name a few. Studies indicate that the presence of one cannabinoid can magnify the effects of the others so in essence, they work better collectively than they do individually.
Terpenes play a major role in how the cannabinoids affect us. Cannabis with high amounts of the terpene Myrcene have sedative effects while Limonene is associated with a happy uplifting feeling. The versatility of the “Entourage Effect” is why cannabis plants have so many different therapeutic uses with strains being bred to address specific issues.
The entourage effect can be observed in our Full Spectrum hemp oil. Full Spectrum oil contains all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes in the exact ratios that existed in the living plant. This maximizes the benefit you receive when taking our oil as a form of "Whole Plant Medicine." Our strains are constantly evolving as improvements in hemp genetics expand.
